Story of two friends
Do you have a best friend? Do you quarrel sometimes?

Many years ago there were two friends Henry and Thomas.
Henry was not an ordinary man he was a king Henry II.
Thomas was a son of wealthy Londoner.
Henry made Thomas his Chancellor in 1155. Chancellor was a title and it meant Thomas was an important man and adviser.
Thomas and Henry became good friends. They go hunting together.
Few years later they became enemies. Why? If you think they fell in love with the same woman you are wrong.
In 1162 Henry made Becket Archbishop of Canterbury . As Archbishop, Becket became much more religious. He did not want to obey Henry because now he had a greater boss -the God.
Henry was angry and said "Will no one rid me of this troublesome priest?" Four knights heard this, rode to Canterbury, and murdered Becket at the altar of the Cathedral on 29 December 1170.
In 1174, to show he was sorry, Henry walked barefoot to Canterbury Cathedral and allowed the monks to whip him.
